Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Work Preparator with a focus on static equipment, you are responsible for preparing detailed and executable work packages for turnaround-related maintenance and repair of static equipment. You ensure that all work preparations prioritize safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness while aligning with project scope and planning.
- The turnaround officially begins around January 2027.
- Prepare comprehensive work packages for the inspection, repair, and replacement of static equipment (e.g., pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, tanks, filters, valves).
- Ensure compliance with applicable HSE regulations, industry standards, and internal procedures.
- Identify and coordinate the procurement of required materials, tools, and services in collaboration with supply chain and vendors.
- Perform field walk-downs to verify scope, assess access, and identify potential constraints or risks.
- Develop clear job steps, resource estimates, technical drawings, and material specifications.
- Plan for and coordinate any required scaffolding, insulation removal, lifting activities, or special access equipment.
- Create and manage work orders using SAP (or similar CMMS) for planning, scheduling, and tracking progress.
- Work closely with internal teams and contractors to align expectations and execution plans.
- Optimize job packages based on past turnaround learnings, execution feedback, and continuous improvement principles.
- Ensure readiness of work packages in line with turnaround milestones and execution windows.
Requirements
- Technical degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering or industrial maintenance.
- Previous turnaround experience is preferred, particularly involving static mechanical equipment.
- In-depth knowledge of static equipment inspection, repair techniques, welding practices, and pressure testing.
- Strong familiarity with piping and mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and fabrication tolerances.
- Proficiency with SAP or similar ERP / CMMS platforms.
- Skilled in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and work planning tools.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with a proactive and safety-conscious mindset.
- Capable of coordinating multiple interfaces, such as insulation, scaffolding, and lifting plans.
- EU citizenship is mandatory due to project and legal requirements.
