Responsibilities
- Monitor day-to-day safety compliance during turnaround activities, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, company policies, and client expectations.
- Conduct daily safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments across all work fronts.
- Lead and participate in pre-task risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
- Enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, hot work, and other critical safety permit systems.
- Collaborate with operations, contractors, and project managers to identify hazards and implement mitigation strategies.
- Support incident investigation and root cause analysis; develop and track corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of safety activities, including reports, incident logs, and compliance records.
- Provide training or coaching on safe work practices, emergency procedures, and safety standards.
- Serve as the on-site point of contact for HSE matters and emergency response coordination.
- Ensure contractor safety plans are followed and hold all teams accountable to site safety expectations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in the petrochemical, refining, or heavy industrial sector.
- Experience in specifically supervising safety during turnaround or shutdown events.
- Strong working knowledge of Swedish safety regulations.
- Excellent observational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to lead in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
