Responsibilities

  • Monitor day-to-day safety compliance during turnaround activities, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, company policies, and client expectations.
  • Conduct daily safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments across all work fronts.
  • Lead and participate in pre-task risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
  • Enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, hot work, and other critical safety permit systems.
  • Collaborate with operations, contractors, and project managers to identify hazards and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Support incident investigation and root cause analysis; develop and track corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of safety activities, including reports, incident logs, and compliance records.
  • Provide training or coaching on safe work practices, emergency procedures, and safety standards.
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for HSE matters and emergency response coordination.
  • Ensure contractor safety plans are followed and hold all teams accountable to site safety expectations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in the petrochemical, refining, or heavy industrial sector.
  • Experience in specifically supervising safety during turnaround or shutdown events.
  • Strong working knowledge of Swedish safety regulations.
  • Excellent observational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
