Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all civil and facility-related activities within the project.
- Assess risks and constraints related to the existing or planned production building and develop suitable mitigation strategies.
- Manage building permit applications and maintain communication with local authorities and municipalities.
- Coordinate building infrastructure design, including:
- HVAC and ventilation systems
- Fire protection systems
- Elevators and lifting solutions
- Utility and building services
- Evaluate facility layouts and determine suitable locations for process equipment and production areas.
- Coordinate with logistics, site functions, engineering disciplines, and external stakeholders.
- Act as the primary client-side interface towards engineering contractors and civil design partners.
- Review and validate previous project work and identify areas requiring updates or redesign in the event of a project restart.
- Support the Process Lead and ensure close collaboration between process and facility design activities.
Requirements
- Strong background in civil engineering, industrial facilities, plant engineering, or building design projects.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary interfaces involving contractors, authorities, consultants, and site organizations.
- Experience with permitting processes and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of HVAC, building systems, fire protection, facility layouts, and industrial infrastructure.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating multiple stakeholders.
- Previous experience from Life Science, pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Understanding of GMP-regulated production facilities and their building requirements.
- Experience representing the client organization during Concept Design, Basic Design, or Front-End Engineering phases.
